Two Step Treatment Process
Step 1 is Healthy water for the Human - $675.00:
Bottled water quality through the entire house. (Chloramine Removal)
Removes over 200 chemicals and contaminants including chlorine, chloramine, trihalomethanes, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and haloacetic acids. Most skin irritation is caused by chemicals in the water absorbed in the shower.
This filter is a Pentair Structural USA made whole house filter pressure tank with a Clack Corp. heavy duty valve head, riser, heavy duty high flow upper and lower baskets and 100% Pure Catalytic Carbon to produce the best results at an affordable price. I utilize 100% catalytic carbon (no mixed bed), due to it's effective adsorption rate and immense surface area. One pound of catalytic carbon has a filtering surface area equvalent of 100 plus acres. The california filter contains 30 pounds. It is the best known treatment for organic chemicals, VOC's, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, chlorine, chloramines and disinfection by-products including trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids.
Very important note: 1 million gallon chlorine removal / 10 years, really?
Carbon filtration is most effective at removing chlorine however other chemicals/contaminants will begin to pass through long before chlorine is allowed to pass. For example, the MatriKX 1+ extruded carbon block filter used in most reverse osmosis units has an amazing 20,000 gallon chlorine removal capacity (when operated at .75 gallons per minute), but loses its effectiveness for trihalomethane removal after 750 gallons.
By comparison the california filter is operating at 10-15 GPM and needs to have the filter media changed out at 24 mos. Average cost is $100 per year to do this and provide bottled water quality from every faucet in your home. Catalytic Carbon is a readily available standardized filtration media and easy to change out by the homeowner or a low cost service charge to have it done. Eliminate overpriced water filter service charges. Google best price on catalytic carbon and see what comes up.
I do not recommend a big blue sediment pre-filter unless you have well water.
Most filter companies include this in their pricing. It keeps you in their loop every 3-6 mos buying replacement filters. The highest markup item in the industry. You don't have a sediment problem on municipal water. Ask me if you have questions about this.
Step 2 is Healthy water for the Home - $975.00:
Scale Prevention System eliminates scale and hard water problems. More soap lather and softer skin.
This filter is a Pentair Structural USA made whole house filter pressure tank with a Clack Corp. heavy duty valve head, riser, heavy duty high flow upper and lower baskets and Filtersorb SP3 scale prevention media.
Filtersorb SP3 is the highest rated media tested to prevent scale by 96%. It prevents scale by transforming hardness minerals into nano crystals allowing them to pass through without attaching to plumbing and surfaces. This system not only prevents scale formation but removes existing scale buildup from water heaters and plumbing through out the home. If you have a tankless water heater, you do not have to have the annual descale service done. It is considerably more cost effective than salt water softeners that are outdated and being banned due to wasted water backflush and high concentrations of salt being added to the water and dumped into the wastewater.
The california filter does not add any salt, chemicals or increase sodium levels in the water. Does not cause plumbing erosion, does not remove healthy minerals (calcium and magnesium) from the water and needs no backflushing hence no wasted water down the drain. It is truly maintenance free for 5 years at which point the filter media needs to be changed out. Average cost is $130 per year to do this and maintain healthy water for the home. Filtersorb SP3 is a readily available standardized filtration media and easy to change out by the homeowner or a low cost service charge to have it done. Google best price on Filtersorb SP3 to see pricing and availability.
